To add even more adventure to your fishing vacation, we have a Lake Trout lake.

Lake Trout are not found in Black Bear Island Lake. We have a small lake called Renz Lake, which is stuffed with Lake Trout. This lake does not get fished very often. As a result, Lake Trout are plentiful but due to the high population and competition for food, the trout rarely get over 6 pounds. They are still a ton of fun to catch on light tackle.

The reason Renz Lake is not fished very often is because it takes some work to get into it. There is a 100-yard portage. We have rollers to roll the boat over, which makes it much easier but it still takes some physical effort and your guide can't do it by himself. If you like catching Lake Trout, this is a great way to get some exercise and burn off Vickie's home cooked meals and at the same time have a fantastic day of trout fishing.
